Great TED Talk on Why Things Hurt
Here's a great TED talk from Lorimer Moseley, a clinical neuroscientist who studies pain. The title of the talk is Why Things Hurt.
Moseley is an internationally influential researcher and writer on the subject of pain. But he is also an engaging and humorous speaker who has spent a lot of time honing his ability to communicate his ideas to laypeople.
Many of his claims are surprising, useful, non-intuitive and unfortunately unknown by many people who suffer from pain and even people who treat pain for a living.
If you are not already familiar with the basics of pain science, give this video a watch. Even if you are, it's an entertaining presentation with some powerful stories and images.
